E-Library
The e-library section of the Office of Library & Archives (OLA) was set up in 2020 with the vision of enhancing knowledge building and skills development throughout the country. To bridge digital divide between the rural/urban populous, embracing relevance in social & cultural sectors, providing accessibility of e-resources to promoting growth in literacy and numeracy skills is the paramount objective.
Significantly, the focus is to empower the future generations with tools, information and capabilities that would be to world standards. This was identified as a monumental step by OLA, towards achieving Vision 2050 and Vision 2075.
Publications
Under the Library Wing, supported by Corporate Wing Sections (Media & ICT), the book publication activities, creating and disbursement of books information such as catalogs, bibliographies, reports and, now moving into, online resourcing of both national and foreign are continued tasks.
Database
This is a structured format of information collection that is vital and important in this line of work. Crucial and sensitive information, including bibliographic data, retrieval of archival research is key. Cataloging, Archival Management, Research and accessibility is paramount in maintaining work flow and client service satisfaction. Although the OLA is slowly venturing into the digital transformation, a system is already in place and is efficiently producing information.
Archival Manuscripts
Unique, historical and sensitive, hand-written or typed, documents that are part of a personal collection, organizational information records or preserved researched documents in historical importance is being stored. Manuscripts described and gives view of the performances or operations of events occurrences.

PERSONAL PAPERS – Historical documents include personal hand-written papers, with regards to their individual life and work. Stories of KIAPS, WW2 Soldiers experiences etc.

Organizational Records – Meeting minutes, financial records and organizational correspondences are part of these in collection. Burns Phillip Co., Steamships Co., Johnson & Johnson Co. etc.

Others – This includes draft books, articles, reports, references, photographs and audio and visual collections of P.N.G.
PNG Collection
A collection of documents, images and books from pre-independence to present history. A list of PNGs Prime Ministers from the beginning to today. We have a wide collection of information that is both interesting and intriguing at their current state. Collection are contributions from both foreign partners and local enthusiasts on PNG. Currently access is restricted. Only upon visit to the Library are able to access information, as content cannot be borrowed, shared or published online due to sensitivity of information and as per our OLA Protection Policy.
