
The division consist of three (3) major branches;
- PNG Collection,
- Reference Collection
- Public Library.
These three branches are clientele oriented, they are responsible for activities and process concerning collection development, organizing, preservation of information and books for easy access and retrieval of library information. It plays a very important role in satisfying library user’s informational needs in terms of information and research with greater emphasis on modern technology.
The division is also responsible for the American Corner as means of accessing internet and Wi-Fi services. It is freely arranged in partnership with American Embassy for Papua New Guineans to have access to important information for opportunities available concerning overseas studies and personal development particularly in the United State of American Universities and Colleges.
The Reader Services is also is the recipient of Legal Deposits. Information written by Papua New Guinean Writers and overseas authors must deposit two copies of their book to the National Library as stipulated in the National Library and Archives Act, 1993.
